Snake the belt back onto all the pulleys in the correct order for your vehicle. Remember that any pulley that has grooves is meant to be driven by the grooves in the serpentine belt. The idler pulley, for example, doesn't have grooves because it rests on the back side of the belt. But the power steering pump pulley does have grooves.
Now, you're going to use a serpentine belt tool. We're going to use the 15-millimeter adapter on the end of it. If you don't have one, you can just use a 15-millimeter wrench. Just be careful. Loosen up the tension on it as if you're turning it clockwise. And then over on the idler, just take the belt off. Release the tensioner. Pull off your tool.
Step 4 – Inspect belt operation. With the belt in place and properly aligned on all pulleys, proceed to start the vehicle. With the engine idling, inspect the belt to make sure it is running true.
